Jennifer Charlton has just gained a First Class Honours Degree in Professional Photography with Edinburgh College/Kingston University a year after being awarded a BA with Distinction through Edinburgh College/Robert Gordon University.

  • MPB Scottish Portrait Award Winner (Colour) 2024 (making history as the first female and digital print to win)

  • Outstanding Achievement in Photography Award- Edinburgh College November 2004

  • Jennifer was awarded Edinburgh College Student of the year in 2020 and in 2023 won the prestigious BIPP Scottish/Northern Ireland Sports Photographer of the Year in addition to:

  • International Photography Awards Honorable Mention 2024

  • Photo North Festival Runner Up 2024

  • Finalist AOP student Awards 2024

  • Short listed Scottish Portrait Award (SPA) 2023 and 2024

  • Long listed Scottish Portrait Award (SPA) 2022, 2023 and 2024

  • Bronze awards in the Sport, Portraiture and Commercial categories (BIPP)

  • Award of Excellence with the Master Photographers Association (MPA)

  • Shortlisted for two series of Images with the Royal Photographic Society (RPS)

  • Shortlisted for three images in the BIPP Print Competition

  • All three images entered in the International Photography Awards 2023 (IPA) were awarded an official selection, two of which were given an Honourable Mention.Silver, Bronze.

  • Honourable Mention in the Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA) 2023.

  • In 2024 Jennifer was listed by the RPS as one of ‘Five Headturners to Watch’ and featured in their WE Are Magazine, a celebrate of female photographers.

Working throughout her studies as a freelance Photographer and single mum of three children, her work has opened up opportunities with some of the biggest global boxing promoters in the world and hopes to inspire women to believe in themselves and follow their dreams, whatever their circumstances. Specialising in Commercial, Photojournalism, Editorial, Portraits and Documentary Jennifer continues to tell other peoples stories through documentary and portraiture projects, raising awareness through her imagery alongside providing a professional service to pay the bills.

Published in over thirty publications ranging from Mens Health Magazines, Boxing News, The Scotsman and Shutter Hubs Annual Yearbook along with being interviewed on ITV, BBC Radio and Talksport about her work.
