I was recently contacted by Glasgow photography student Alan James Black asking if I would be up for having my photo taken by him for a cpffee table book he is making featuring Scotlands Artists. First reaction "oh no I hate having my picture taken and I am an awful model" but then also what a hypocrite when I have had so many others support me during my photography journey. We made a plan and James and his lovely wife Amanda came over to Lindisfarne, their first time and I was excited at the prospect of introducing them to my happy place. This would at least give James a fighting chance of capturing something he could use if I was relaxed. The first signs of spring arrived that day -before returning to winter we were so blessed. I had low expectations as I very rarely photography well these days and that was no disrepect to James as a photographer, just his subject choice. then a miracle happened, later that day James sent through the images. I loved them. He had caught the real me. Thank you James, and good luck with the rest of your HND. You are a magician.
